1. NARS Amsterdam Pure Matte Lipstick

This matte lipstick had me falling in love with it all over again with each wear. It’s not as red as it’s fall partner (Autumn leaves) but the richness is there. The color has a brown tone making it a super match for any brunette, and it has no drying effect which can be typical for a matte lipstick. The transfer to surfaces (other faces and cups) was minimal and a gloss can be added on top to create a stain if one desires. Definitely a good dinner partner this summer with a tan while I wait for fall.

  2. NARS Liquid liner

Being one whom works with lots of brushes and differing liners, I’m happy to say that this is easier to apply than most. The brush is tapered nicely for one to be able to create an elongated look on the first try. The brush is thin enough to reach the inner corner of the eye, but thick enough to build a thicker line. The brown color appeared even and found that it looked like a true brown until some eye shadow had fallen to make it look on the ashy gray side. No fault of NARS but one to keep in mind. The best part about the liner was it’s stay power! The liner was exposed to different weather conditions (sun, rain, tears, etc.) and despite all of that it stayed put. Way to go NARS.

  3. NARS  High Society  Eyeshadow Trio

Easy to blend matte colors were worn when time didn’t permit me to blend stronger pigments together. The light purple had a lovely sheerness that I appreciated, in texture and look. Despite it being a fall palette the hue looked exceptional with a tan. This makeup lasted for hours and withstood heavy rain making this NARS trio a great investment for fall or summer, as the colors can be worn individually or mixed.

  4. NARS Outlaw Blush

The Outlaw blush is a warm and shimmering golden rose. This beautiful shade is a must for all makeup artists as it works on light to dark skin tones. This blush works  all year round but is especially beautiful  in the fall. The finish doesn’t translate as too sparkly on the skin but a lighter hand will probably be best forapplying it.

  5. NARS Lipstick in Autumn Leaves

No doubt the name Autumn Leaves speaks of the colour. A beautiful warm, creamy rich lipstick that remains creamy throughout the wear. I wore the delightful ox-blood colour two ways to take advantage of the pigment. Day one I wore it as a stain, patting it on the lips with minimal make up, long lashes and a tan. The light gloss on top allowed  the fall colour to translate as more wearable in the middle of summer. Equally happy was I to report that the product did not dry out the lips or have a foul smell. This could be anyone’s new favourite lipstick.

  6. NARS Undress me

This wide stick that I used as a blush was unfortunately a disappointment. The product appears to be a beautiful dusty rose color with strong shimmer, but translates to something otherwise on the face. Firstly, to be fair my skin wasn’t on a good day, so the larger sparkles (there are fine and larger ones throughout) enhanced my larger pores. The particles moved a lot for having just been applied. The creamy blush didn’t come through nor did it hold the shimmer leaving a less than desired look. I looked as if I had been wearing body shimmer the night before, and it somehow made it to my face during sleep. To correct this I added a powder blush on top for pigment and in hopes it would help contain the sparkle spread. I wouldn’t use this as a highlighter either in the future, again for the reason that there is no control after the application…perhaps I’ll just use it on my body next time I go dancing?

  7. Makeup Forever Aqua Smokey lash Mascara

Volume Yes! This mascara’s look I would equate with that “spidery” fake lash that begs to be paired with a strong lip and minimal make up. Upon application I noticed that the curl factor was above average especially testing it without curling the lash prior. The “extra black” colour was indeed black enough for my satisfaction. This product being more on the dry side has it’s benefits, but was difficult to undo a lash kink (let’s say from sleeping on it) like a wet mascara could. I have nothing to report about the wand or bristles positive or negative, but the waterproof factor is most definitely there! I would take this to the hot destination where you’re sure to be a water demon! There was little to no product movement when standing in the shower facing the water. However, like all waterproof mascara’s it’s quite difficult to remove. After washing and using a quality eye-make up remover there was plenty of make up remaining and dropping over time. I had to use the make up remover three to four times to achieve a somewhat clean eye.

  8.  Dior Show Blackout Mascara

Dior Blackout only took one application for me to like it, and only two for me to love it.

At first glance when removing the wand, the makeup appears to be thick and chunky on the brush, yet after starting at the bottom of the lashes and building upwards it was obvious that chunky was not the case. Very soft lashes that were extremely easy to build on looked flirty after the application and  I’m happy to report that it remained that way until the night. At the end of the day the lashes were still soft to the touch and more importantly, the colour still a true black. My favorite aspect of this mascara is how it is most definitely bottom lash friendly. The full natural lash look encircle the entire eye allows for a consistency I appreciate. This fullness is evident by the lash line. This Dior product was easy for me to manipulate on all lash lengths (including the inner eye) with minimal colour bleed that a regular mascara would give. Dior does it best!

  9. DIORSHOW HEAT CURL

    What they say:
A heating lash curler inspired by the backstage techniques of Dior fashion shows for lashes with infinite curves. This lash curler can be used on bare lashes to prep for mascara application, or after mascara is applied to thin the mascara formula and perfectly coat every lash for even application. The results: enhanced lash curve and perfect, long-lasting hold. This curler optimizes the lash care action of some Diorshow mascaras.

    What I say:

Hmmmm this product was a disappointment to me. I tested it against a regular lash curler and other ‘heated’ curlers. Your average lash curler (M.A.C or shu uemura) is still the best option. It is faster and actually curls the lashes more than a heated one. I also used this after applying mascara and it made the lashes look clumpy.

    Would I buy this again?
    No

  10.  “After women, flowers are the most lovely thing God has given the world.”

    - Christian Dior –

DIOR SPRING MAKEUP 2012 draws inspiration from mother earth.
The colors and textures of this collection are magic! Dior always mixes luxury; beauty and quality in their products and this collection showcases just that. The clutch is honestly a “piece” in itself. Something any girl should own. The eye shadows are iridescent and apply like butter to the eyes. Lipsticks and glosses are beautiful fresh shades of coral and pink. The blush is a must for almost all skin tones. When you apply the blush you will notice that it looks like the color is coming from within, very pretty.
Over all a very strong collection by Dior…as always!

The collection will launch in stores January 12 2012!
